The latest Crisis Housing Solutions home renovation project will focus on a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in the Roosevelt Gardens community. We have decided to dedicate the sale of this home specifically to a low- to moderate-income veteran and their family, providing an affordable option for a returning hero right here in our own community.
This single family home has a variety of needs to bring it into great condition. They include:
- A new roof
- Termite treatment
- New appliances
- Updated bathrooms
- Kitchen remodeling
- Several new windows
- Hurricane protection
- Other general cosmetic needs
The estimated rehab costs will run just over $25,000.

Crisis Housing Solutions (CHS) was founded by Craig & Lisa Vanderlaan as Adopt a Hurricane Family (AHF) on August 30, 2005, in response to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. After diligently working for 3+ years to assist disaster survivors of Katrina and Wilma with temporary & permanent housing solutions, AHF expanded its mission to assist those affected by any disaster – natural, man-made or economic. We offer a variety of services including our First Time Homebuyer program as well as several others designed to help keep families out of foreclosure and in their homes.
In July 2011, Crisis Housing Solutions teamed with local banks and HUD to rehabilitate foreclosure properties. The homes are offered exclusively to low- to moderate-income individuals/families to help them find an affordable and secure place to call home. The Community Stabilization Initiative has helped to rehab over 60 homes throughout South Florida in order to revitalize communities through responsible home ownership.
